Princess for Team Adalia

Hi there πŸ™‚

Hope you are all well!

Team Adalia CardAs I promised some of you who follow Adalia Rose I’ve made her a card as well:) I got to know that many of you follow this sweet girl who has Progeria like Hayley Okines. An energetic and bright 6 year old who loves dancing, singing and dressing up πŸ™‚  She would surely be delighted if you leave her a message on her Facebook page! :) I designed a princess for her card, a princess who supports Team Adalia which works very hard to raise awareness as well as money for research to fight this condition.

I chose bright colours with pinks and purples and I decorated the card with flowers, coloured pearls and ribbon. You can find the image in my shop here where the balloon is left blank.

Princess_AdaliaMore summer images coming right up so stay tuned πŸ™‚ Penny Blossom will be happily sponsoring some interesting challenges so more on that soon πŸ™‚

Take good care people!

Smile n Say Cheese!

Hey people πŸ™‚

Hope you are all well!

I want to say a big thanks for your feedback on my last post. I received a lot of messages and got to know that a number of you work with special people like Hayley Okines. Keep up the good work . . . I’m sure that your work is truly cherished by these people and their families. It is beautiful to share your time, talents, and skills with others. It is what makes the world such a wonderful place.

Smile n Say Cheese!I’m posting another drawing which will be part of a series called ‘Summer Fun’. The image will be free for 24 hours so just go ahead, download it and spread the word! Afterwards you can find the stamp in my shop. This drawing is called ‘Say Cheese!’. It features two friends having fun, sipping cocktails and partying πŸ™‚ And isn’t Summer all about beach parties and fun? πŸ™‚

Enjoy it and hope you can use it in your cards and crafts. Stay tuned as I will be hosting my first card challenge very soon! πŸ™‚

More about this in my next post x x

Hang in There Hayley!

Hey people,

Hayley Okines

Hayley Okines

Hope you are all well and doing great! πŸ™‚

Today I’m uploading a card I’ve made a couple of weeks ago. This card was made for a very special teenager who has touched the hearts of many with her courage, positive outlook and warm cute smile!

I’m talking about Hayley Okines (http://hayleyokines.com/) who suffers from Progeria, a rare genetic disease that manifests itself in symptoms of rapid ageing in children. I want to share her story with you. Please do share it with your friends. Hayley has worked hard to raise awareness about this rare condition. You can also help out by donating to the Progeria Research Foundation (http://www.progeriaresearch.org/). I’ve just purchased her book ‘Old Before my Time’ (written by Hayley and her mother) in which they tell their unique story. It’s a lovely read.

Hang In ThereFor the card I used one of my images ‘Hang in There’. I used brown and pastel colours and embellished it with flowers, butterflies and metal decorations. I also gave it a little bit of a grungy look while keeping it pretty πŸ™‚

Please do share this story with your friends. With more awareness we’d surely be helping these children and teenagers! Let us give a helping hand !!

Big hugs to all,

Christine x x

Fairy dust. . . or just dust!!

Hello there πŸ™‚

Hope you are well and in good health!

Domestic FairyHave you ever been through a busy patch where at the end of it your house is one big mess?! Don’t you ever feel like closing your eyes and summon a domestic fairy to rush to your side? Fancy that extra hand? πŸ™‚ Oh yeah!!! Big time!!! It is nice to dream a bit. This is how the idea for my new drawing came to mind. A sweet domestic fairy with her duster and bucket to remind us to smile, take a breather and proceed with our housework πŸ™‚ Bit by bit we’ll restore order! The house will be spic-and-span again!! Hope you like the sweet fairy πŸ™‚ You can find this drawing in my shop here.

Summer is almost here though the weather seems to have a different idea!! It is windy again and the colour of the sky is orange grey. . . so tiring to look at! Looking forward to blue skies again!!

Wishing you a lovely weekend . . .it’s almost here people!!

Take care and hugs,

Dare to be Different

Hey people,

How are you? Hope you’re all doing well!

Dare to be Different

I haven’t been much in touch lately. Had an extremely busy spell!! And more busy weeks to come! But my weeks were varied. I had to do work on paintings, took part in an exhibition, read some really interesting stuff, worked on my studies and at least enjoyed some nice warm sun in the process πŸ™‚

To make up for my absence I made sure to find some time to draw a new character for all of you to enjoy! ‘Dare to be different’!! You can download this freebie here. Hope you like it πŸ™‚ It is so nice to celebrate what makes us unique and special. I really admire those individuals who are not scared to be different and be happy with who they are. I think this is a different form of creativity. We are all equipped with so many great qualities that it would be such a waste to imitate and replicate lives of others. What makes you special? Let us dedicate the next few weeks to focus on what makes us beautifully different.

I wish you all a good week. May it be positive and bright! Don’t forget to take some time away from your busy schedule and think about what makes you special πŸ™‚

Take good care!

Hugs,

Hello people,

Hope you had a great week!

I’ve had yet another busy week and I also focused a bit on organizing and decluttering my mind because my to-do list is increasing exponentially!! Feeling overwhelmed kind of works against you so it was time to stop, calm down, move back, and write down everything! How do you tackle feeling overwhelmed? I have stumbled across a blog which suggests a simple and effective way how to organize your week and plan around your different life areas. If you’re feeling slightly out of control and somewhat lacking behind just have courage and go through these steps which will slowly get you back on track πŸ™‚ I thank the author for sharing this guide πŸ™‚

bookmark_frontThis week I managed to fit in a few minutes to make a bookmark. Honestly, I always run out of bookmarks . . . I have so many types, my favourite being a metal angel . . . which has designs like a stencil . . .it is attached to a white chord. . . super cute πŸ™‚ I decided to make a corner bookmark this time. Just love these! You can dress them up however you like and they make cute handmade gifts for a teacher, a librarian, a bookworm friend πŸ™‚ there are many templates for these bookmarks. I followed a simple one which you can find here.

bookmark1I used part of my digistamp ‘Hang in There‘, used small wooden pegs, a ribbon, a printed quote and embossed the bottom part for some texture! It is important to keep your decorations as flat as possible so that your book can close properly. It only took me a few minutes to make so do try it out πŸ™‚

Wishing you all a lovely weekend πŸ™‚

Take care and hugs,

Roaring Twenties

Heya πŸ™‚

How are you? Hope you’re all well and having a nice weekend! Here we had terrible weather, soooo windy, rainy, and still quite cold. But today it is seems to be more stable with some occasional sunny moments! So that’s not too bad!

Flapper Girl Penny Blossom CardThis week I’m sharing with you a new drawing I made for a friend of mine who will get married soon. We had her hen night and it was such a wonderful evening πŸ™‚ Sooo enjoyable πŸ™‚ ‘Roaring Twenties’ was the theme!! Such a lovely way to spend a girl’s night out together wearing our flapper dresses, boas, pearls and bling! Don’t you think it was such a lovely fashion style? I think it really flattered women! It is nice to feel sophisticated and elegant . . . simply enjoying being a girl πŸ™‚

You can find my drawing in my shop and this is the card I made. I’m also sharing a pic from the day πŸ™‚ feathers it is! hihi πŸ™‚

Hey people!

Hope you’re well πŸ™‚ The weekend is almost here! Hurray!! I look forward to rest a bit as I’ve had quite a busy week.

Pink it is - Card - Penny BlossomToday I want to share with you a card I’ve made for a friend of mine who has just had her second baby. . . sweet Julia πŸ™‚ The character I designed represents a happy, well-groomed mummy who’s gone out for a nice stroll with her pram πŸ™‚ Blissful moments with a newborn πŸ™‚ You can find the digi in my shop. I really enjoyed working on this card πŸ™‚ It has been quite some time since I had time to indulge in some card making so it was nice to play around with some items I have in my stash!
